I have only been Shopfitting for 17 years both on site and from an office, and there are not many occasions that we are faced with such a number of trades, completing such a number of operations in as many areas as what was done over the past 3 weeks.
Everyone worked with each other and had patience. This was an area that could not have been planned until the areas were exposed, therefore everyone was placed under a large amount of pressure to react on what was found and get it installed with little notice.

I have not yet had the opportunity to work with AS Fabrications Ltd. I have however worked with Mick Fortune and his colleagues on a number of projects in the past.
I was Project Manager for Mowlem and the Carillion when they took over Mowlem. I worked with Mick and his team on a new grandstand at Newmarket Racecourse, the refurbishment and extension of Sandown Park Racecourse and the new South Stand for RFU at Twickenham.
This working relationship goes back nearly 10 years and in that time the work that they have done has always been first class. They are a very good team to work with and value their relationships with the Principal Contractor and work hard to build that relationship.
Following the demise of Mowlem many of my team moved on to other companies. I know of several cases where they then sent tender enquiries to Mick and now new working relationships are being developed with those companies. That my old colleagues made a point of adding Mick to their tender lists says a lot about him and approach to our business.
